Thomasville Christmas Parade Frequently Asked Questions

bulletWhen is the Thomasville Christmas Parade?

The Thomasville Christmas Parade is always on the Saturday before Thanksgiving Day. This years parade is on November 22, 2014. Parade will start at 3:00pm (rain or shine). First entry (Color Guard) should approach downtown at approximately 3:15pm. Parade should last about an hour. Live channel 13 coverage should begin at 3:00 pm.

bulletWhere is the parade route?

Main Street downtown Thomasville from Maple Street (underpass) to Hoover Street (Lexington Ave.).   Click here for Thomasville street map

bulletWhere are the lineup and pickup areas?

Julian Avenue from East Main to Sunrise and a portion of East Main (front of TFI) will be closed to through traffic from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm. We will paint lineup numbers on the right and left sides of the road. Parents will be permitted in the lineup to drop off kids.

Hoover Street at the end of the parade will be closed to through traffic for the marching groups. All others should continue down Lexington Ave. and pull over at one of the many vacant lots. Parents watching parade could leave downtown via Lexington Ave. and pickup their kids.

See the Printable Instructions, Rules and Regulations page of this website for more information.

bulletWhat are Professional Floats?

The Santa float (sponsored by the Thomasville Chamber of Commerce) is a good example of a professional float. These floats are parade ready and come with a driver. Only eight floats are available each year and Richie Floats rotates from their 50+ floats. We will always offer the previous year float rentals an opportunity to repeat. Go to the Parade Floats page of this website for more information.

bulletHow do I enter?

Go to the Entry Form page of this website and print a form for each entry.
Windows XP (right click form and select print)
Windows 8 (open browser in desktop mode...right click    form...print preview...shrink to fit 90%... select print)
Send the completed and signed form with attached check to the address listed on the form. Entry forms will also be available at the Thomasville Tourism.

bulletDo I need to pay an entry fee?

Elected officials (Mayor, etc.) and public safety (Fire Dept, etc) pay no entry fee. Student body elected queens and cheerleaders pay no entry if their marching band is in the parade. Non profits (churches, etc.) pay $25 per space and commercial pay $50 per space.

bulletHow large is a space?

Two parking lot spaces back to back.  If you’re slightly over it's OK but a tractor trailer for example will not fit in one space.

bulletHow do I check confirmation of my entry and lineup position?

Lineup position will not be final until the Thursday before parade. It will be posted on the Parade Lineup page of this website and should be published in the Thomasville Times Saturday (day of parade).

bulletOur business needs a W9 form. Who do we contact?
